Our 50th anniversary celebratory event, Run Round Singapore 2005, sets not one, but four national records over the weekend of 1 and 2 October. Eight runners, comprising staff, faculty, students and alumni, attempted the 168km route. Three alumni successfully completed the full distance in less than 30 hours. The route is the longest ever running distance held in Singapore. NTU alumnus, Mr Lim Nghee Huat, sets a national record by completing the 168-km run in 24 hrs and 44 mins. Two other runners also completed the full distance. Offering their congratulations at the finishing line were NTU President, Dr Su Guaning, and Transport Minister, Mr Yeo Cheow Tong.
