The School of Biological Sciences was established in July 2001. In May 2004, the school moved to a purpose-built facility on the NTU campus with 30,000 m2 of total floor space, containing 60 research laboratories, core instrumentation facilities and an adjoining two storey animal house.

The School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering offers a 4-year Direct Honours professional degree programme in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. To support undergraduate teaching and graduate research programmes, EEE has established 65 laboratories which are well-equipped with moderm facilities and state-of-the-art equipment. The school also hosts 11 advanced research centres.
